Attendance Works: Advancing Student Success by Reducing Chronic Absence

Attendance Works is a national and state initiative that promotes better policy and practice around school attendance. They promote tracking chronic absence data for each student beginning in kindergarten, or ideally earlier, and partnering with families and community agencies to intervene when poor attendance is a problem for students or schools.

Math Resources for parents

The Education Oversite Committee and SC math teachers have developed web-based resources to help students in Kindergarten through 7th grade with math. Grade level links provide resources - activities, book, websites, and apps - on specific concepts found in the SC College and Career Ready Standards in mathematics.

Family-Friendly Guides to SC Academic Standards

The Family-Friendly Guides to the SC Academic Standards are excellent tools for teachers and parents. The website provides information for parents and families about what their children should be learning in school based on the standards. These resources are ideal for families to receive during back-to-school events and parent-teacher conferences. The family-friendly guides, which are a collaboration between the EOC and the SC Department of Education (SCDE), are available for English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. The guides are also available in Spanish.
